Being in the heart of the Western Ghats, there are a host of unexplored, raw places in and around Gundimane. Water sports are conducted by Sharavathi Nature Camp at Muppane in the backwaters, just 9 kms from Gundimane. There is an ancient fort called “kaanoor kote”, 30kms, which is a good site for people interested in history and archaeology. In addition to Jogfalls, which is just 19 kms from the homestay and the Linganamakki dam which is just around 10kms, there are a lot of small unexplored waterfalls and trekking paths. The very well-known Kodachadri, which is a must-trek for every trekker, is around 85kms.
There is an unexplored peak, “Gundi Hills” which is just a km from GundiMane giving a bird’s eye view of the surroundings. You can see Talaguppa, Sagar and even Hosanagar. These places once just 15-20 kms from this homestay, are now farther by 50-80 kms courtesy the Sharavathi backwater, visible in its full splendour.
